A Typical Treatment Plan
While the locations and severity of symptoms are different for each patient, the goal of treatment in our office is the same for everyone:
Restore spinal function to as high a level as possible
and encourage healing of the damaged tissues.

When you begin using more of your spine, the damaged joints will no longer be overworked and they can begin to heal. With less stress on your nervous system your body can function more effectively.

Components of care in our office:

Spinal Adjustments
To restore movement to the joints of your spine that you currently can’t move on your own.
Soft-Tissue Mobilization
To stretch shortened muscles and break up scar tissue.
Re-examinations
To monitor your progress we will re-examine you every 12 visits. All necessary tests and scans will be repeated (except x-rays). If you have improved as expected, the frequency of your adjustments will be reduced.
Exercise
Specific exercises are prescribed which will force you to use the joints of your spine fully. This will help keep the adjusted joints moving and strengthen their muscles.
Supplementation
Nutritional supplements may be recommended to support the repair of damaged tissues.
Education
To teach you the things that are good for your spine that you should be doing and the things that are damaging that you need to stop. This material is covered in a class setting called the SPINAL CARE WORKSHOP.

How long until you feel better ?

While I don’t have a crystal ball, I can say with confidence that most patients will show at least 50% functional improvement by the first re-examination. If we are going to be able to help, you should definitely begin to feel better in the first three or four weeks of care. Obviously, the extent of the damage present as well as the age and vitality of the patient will affect the rate of improvement in each case.
